Dear Seasurface User,
Invitation to Free Information Nights.
Sea Surface.com in conjunction with two NSW retail outlets and other sponsors will be conducting two special evenings during July to which you are invited. The details are:
Thursday 17th July, 6pm, Wallrock Marine, Unit 2, 2 Aquatic Drive, Frenchs Forest, Sydney
This will be an evening of 'fishing' with Wallrock Marine, sponsored by Contender sports fishing boats, Evinrude ETEC, Furuno, Strikezone and Seasurface.com.
There will be presentations by:
* John Payne from SeaSurface.com who will give you a full run down on the sea surface and sea colour charts available from our web site and how to use them to find those elusive fish and to help save fuel costs;
* Alistair McGlashan from Strikezone, who will not only show you some of his latest captured fishing moments but also share some of his fishing secrets;
* Mark Reid from Furuno, who will be giving a 'sounder' demonstration.
There will be great discounts and lucky door prizes on all sponsor's products and a BBQ and refreshments will be provided.
Attendance is free, so if you wish to attend please call Sam Wallrock on 0432 736 500 or email him by clicking here.
Wednesday 23rd July, 7pm, Culburra Bowling Club, Culburra, NSW
Culburra Bait and Tackle Shop will be holding the first tackle show to be held in their area for quite some time. The show will incorporate sounder demonstrations from Furuno along with Team Daiwa tackle and some new ranges of Berkley gear.
There will be sessions by:
* John Payne from SeaSurface.com who will discuss how to get the best sea surface and sea colour charts from our web site and how to read them to find those fish and to help save fuel costs; and
* Alistair McGlashan from Strikezone, who has done some fantastic fishing and filming lately. Al will share these moments with you and also some of his secrets for success.
There will be lucky door prizes from Furuno and SeaSurface.com along with attractive subscription discounts to www.seasurface.com. Light refreshments and snacks will also be available.
Attendance is free so if you wish to attend please call Culburra Bait & Tackle shop on (02) 4447 2087 or send them an email by clicking here.
New Bathymetric Contours Added.
We recently added new and more detailed bathymetric contours to the web site. These can be easily added to your image by clicking on the Depth On/Off button to the left of your image window.
These new contours show depths of 100m, 200m, 500m and then every 500m interval up to a maximum depth of 5,000 metres. A different colour depicts each depth contour and a legend, including the fathom equivalents can be seen by clicking here. If you have added the contours to your image before you produce a print then a legend will also appear on your print.
Price Changes
As notified in our last newsletter there was an increase in our prices effective 6 June. If you took out a subscription after this date then you will have seen an increase of $10 per year for both our Standard and Express Service and there would have been an extra charge of $35 a year for access to sea colour.
However, the good news is that for those of you who had subscriptions existing as at 6 June there will be a $10 discount the next time you renew. So you'll see no price increase at all. In addition you will also have free access to sea colour images for the remaining time of your current subscription.
Unfortunately the new prices have become necessary for us due to an increase in our licence fees. But to offset this we are also continuing to provide you with new features as a result of your feedback. (See article above on new bathymetric depths)
Memory-Map Special Offer Extended.
The introductory offer to all of our customers of a special 15% discount on copies of the Memory-Map Marine software has been extended to 30 August. To download an order form with these special prices click here.
With Memory-Map Marine installed on your laptop, on-board computer or PDA all you need do is download the latest SST or Sea Colour image (using the new Export Image option available by clicking on our Print/Export button). Then start Memory-Map and point it to the file. It's that easy. You can download a free 10 day trial of the Memory-Map software from Memory-Map. Existing seasurface subscribers can download images suitable for importing into Memory-Map at no charge. With a GPS connected you can also show your boats GPS track/position on both the images and charts simultaneously.
Non subscribers can also try both for free by downloading 7 day old SST charts from us and also using the free 10 day trial from Memory-Map.
Memory-Map Marine comes complete with software plus a selection of marine hydrographic charts covering; Qld North; Qld South; Victoria & Tas; NSW; and NSW & Qld South.
We have also added a special section to our How to use SST manual on how to download our images, import them into Memory-Map Marine and synchronise them with a marine chart. Memory Map also has an extensive manual incorporated with their product.
If you have any questions please give us a call.
