February 14, 2007

Dear ,

2007 Riviera NSW Interclub Tournament,

This year Earthinsite is once again a sponsor at the 2007 Riviera NSW Interclub Tournament. Our staff will be manning an exhibition in the sponsors marquee on Monday 26th February from 12noon to 4pm. We will have our direct wireless broadband connection working, so come along and ask any questions you like and learn how to get the most out of our service. If you would like to sign up for one of the great club subscriptions this can be done on the spot and you will be up and running immediately.

We will also have some new test products for you to view such as sea colour images. Come along and gives us your feedback.

Discounted Subscriptions for Fishing Clubs - a Great Success!

The special discounts we announced in our last newsletter have been a great success with GFAA club members and we have now extended it to members of clubs affiliated with the Australian National Sportfishing Association. The offer will continue to run throughout 2007 and provides members a heavily discounted subscription to the temperature charts on our Seasurface web site from as low as $160. This is a discount of up to 85% off the normal retail price and allows unlimited access for a period of 12 months using your unique username/password. All that is needed is a PC with Internet access and you too can access these valuable charts at home or on the boat.

You can access details or subscribe on line by clicking here. Existing subscribers can also arrange to keep their current username and password.

Distance Measuring Enhancements

We have recently made some additonal enhancements to our distance measuring tool. Now when you click on the Show Temperature Button not only will the temperature appear alongside the mouse cursor but it will also appear along the bottom of the viewing window. This is to cater for some Apple Mac users who have had difficulties seeing the temperature pop-up.

Special Price on Strikezone-Tuna Time & Live Baiting DVDs!

Copies of Alistair McGlashan's hugely successful DVDs, Strikezone Live Baiting and Strikezone Tuna Time, are now available from Earthinsite. Both DVDs include spectacular underwater footage using the specially developed underwater camera. The first DVD Live Baiting has just gone into its first repress after being such a hit with Australian and overseas anglers.

Alistair is working hard at the moment filming the third video in the series and this will also include special instructional footage on using our sea surface temperature charts.

At just $24.95 each (plus $7.95 Express Postage) both his current DVDs are a must have for all saltwater anglers. However, for our customers we have a special running until the end of March with free postage if you order both. You can download an order form by clicking here or you can visit our stand at the NSW Interclub and pick up your copies direct.

User Tips

Looking at the images being downloaded it appears that some users are still not taking advantage of the options of optimising the colours or enhancing their images. This is how you do it.

Tip 1 - Optimise Colours
Once you draw your box and zoom-in the image you are looking at is a subset of the larger image and the colours may not display the full range of temperatures even though all the data is there. If you click on the Optimise Colours button the image is resampled and the coldest temperature is shown in dark blue and the warmest in bright red. You are then able to see the detailed temperature patterns more clearly.

Tip 2 - Enhance Image
To accentuate those important temperature breaks turn your image into a psuedo 3-dimensional view. Click the Enhance Image button. This will display the image with the warmer waters appearing red and higher and the cooler waters blue and lower in a kind of landscape. Try it you will like it!.
