Dear SST User,
New Free Service for Subscribers & Registered Users.
ADD YOUR FAVOURITE FISHING LOCATIONS TO YOUR IMAGE
Have you always wanted to know where that temperature gradient on your screen was in relation to well known fishing spots? Or more particularly to your own favourite spots? Well, seasurface.com is pleased to announce a new free service. Now you can easily plot the locations of those marks over your image with a few simple mouse clicks. And you can see all the information about each mark (Click on the image to the right to see a larger version). Use the marks that we have added or add your own and see them over your image. You can keep your marks private and only visible to you or you can make them public and share them with other users.
Other applications of this service include:
* Plotting the present location of your boat whilst at sea;
* Monitoring the movement of a temperature break by plotting it each day for the previous few days. Then when you show this information over the latest image you can predict where it will be when you actually go out;
* Plotting the location of additional launching spots; and
* Accurately recording where you caught that last big blue and then looking for similar conditions to appear again.
There are many more applications that I am sure you can think of for this fantastic new service.
There is a comprehensive section to our user manual which can be read by clicking here. The manual can also be accessed by click on the How To use SST button at the top of each page. It describes in detail how to:
* Add both the public and private marks to your image;
* Add your own private marks to the data base;
* Edit/Delete your own marks; and
* How to see all the information about any one particular mark.
We encourage you to use this service when you next access your charts on www.seasurface.com. Information on all the public marks has been gathered from fishing web sites, fishing clubs and other subscribers. If you have any feedback on this information please let us know by email and include as much detail as possible, including your contact details. All marks added and made public will be monitored regularly by us and we reserve the right to remove any that we consider incorrect or inappropriate.
Think Like a Fish!
Ever wondered how those longliners find those huge catches of fish? The answer is using the latest in satellite technology, the same as available on www.seasurface.com. As a subscriber then you can have the same success as them to pinpoint those places where the action is. But first its necessary to understand the factors that influence where fish want to be - in other words you have to think like a fish.
In the latest copy of Bluewater magazine, Issue 70, Dr Prame Chopra from Seasurface.com explains how the varioius factors such as temperature and sea colour determine when and where large fish aggregate, - giving you the best chance to find them. Using this information and the tools available on seasurface.com your success is sure to follow.
This issue of Bluewater is highly recommended reading for all current and potential subscribers. So rush out to your newsagent and buy your copy now or subscribe by clicking here to ensure that you do not miss out. The next issue is due in January.

New Satellite Poster of Australia - Special Discount Price
We are pleased to announce the publication of a new poster of Australia produced from satellite data from NASA’s MODIS series of orbiting satellites (click on the image to the right to see a larger version).
This outstanding new poster includes bathymetry data of the ocean floor. The bright blue colour represents shallower water or continental shelves making it easy to see that Australia sits on the Indo-Australian Plate. We know that the first inhabitants entered the continent on foot, by crossing what is known as the Torres Strait today when the sea levels were lower over 40,000 years ago. All this is evident from looking at this map.
There is so much detail available in this image that a great many other natural features can be seen. For example the world heritage listed Great Barrier Reef off the north eastern coast and the world’s largest monolith, Uluru (Ayer’s Rock) in the Northern Territory, can easily be identified.
The poster includes Australian State/Territory boundaries, is in Albers Equal Area Conic projection, has a 10° latitude/ longitude grid, measures 686 mm x 838 mm, is printed on good quality gloss paper and retails for $29.95. There is a special price of $25 (including surface postage) for all orders received before 17 December. It will make a great Christmas present and is a great addition to that wall either in your home, office or conference room. To download an order form click here.
